Question Time with Nurse Susan

Q1 – When does the 14-day quarantine/isolation period start?
A1 – If you test positive your isolation period starts from the moment that your PCR test was taken. If you are identified as a ‘close contact’ your quarantine period starts from the time you were last in contact with the person who has tested positive.
Q2 – Is it safe for my child to have their routine vaccinations whilst COVID-19 is around?
A2 – Yes, during a pandemic it is even more important to make sure that your child is up to date with their routine vaccinations. We have just booked our next vaccination session at DESS.
Again this week, we would like to say another huge ‘Thank You’ to you, for keeping your children at home when they are unwell. This is really helping to keep the DESS community happy, healthy and is greatly preventing the spread of illness.
The DHA inspector that visited us this week were very impressed with your children.
Please can you remember to put a few spare masks in your child’s school bag, especially on days when they have PE lessons. We have used two whole boxes of masks this week!
